Can't use that device as wouldn't be fair on the 7 good dogs in our complex!
Who cares about "fair" when the alternative is "meat special".

Get throwing...

1 x cooked sausage + 1 sleeping tablet = 1 quiet dog

Of course, if the dog that barks is allowed in the owner's house, laxative chocolate has a lot going for it.

hey nice one, laxative chocolate - I'll try it next time I have a problem & offending dog can't come near my house.

don't suppose you know the brand name do you? & is it from a pharmacy?

Chocolate, especially dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, is very poisonous for dogs!

Well, I doubt that laxative choc will have the high cocoa levels that are toxic to dogs.

If you are worried about the dog's well being, add laxative to something else.

Poisoning them would be a bit harsh, plus, I'm not convinced how dangerous chocolate is to them*, and finally, if you think I am giving some yappy little dog my stash of seriously dark chocolate, you are crazy.

* I reckon that some yappy little dog ate 16 bars of chocolate and choked to death on the foil wrappers, and ever since then people rate choco as dangerous for dogs.

Another dodge my Spanish pal uses, when walking past gateways where noisy dogs come running up, barking and frothing at the mouth in a threatening way, is to give them a good shot of pepper spray right in the mush.
By the time they've experienced it on two or three occasions, it's amazing how much more placid they seem to become when ppl walk past their gates.

Be prepared to back up your complaint with times and dates. In canada for the SPCA to take the complaint seriously, we must have approached the owners of the dog and have keep a record (with times and dates) of 3 different times that the dog has been annoying. They then will come out and talk to the owners - if the barking doesnt stop they are given a hefty fine.....

At the end of our street, it seems they have been having problems, and if you approach the local council, they do the same. You have to keep a record for a few weeks of when it actually barks before they send someone around. But a neighbour tells me they have had two visits from the RSPCA, so someone has complained. It's ironic the the nearest neighbour that has had problems with the dog (and the owners!) is the only Spanish person I know in this area, so she should be well used to it.

Jeez, Dick, have you never considered that there may be burglars reading this forum? The ones round here are cute enough without getting more advice.
