We changed from Non residents accounts to residents accounts just by showing residencia certificate. Nothing else required.

we didn't even do that

one day the bank manager said to dh 'do you live here?'

the answer was yes, so the account was changed

Ill have to have a word ... they charge me 14 euros each a year to file a non residency cert

OK, just to let you know, I have called the Consulate in London and I am still none the wiser.

I have to bring all my bits in person to them and it can definitely be done from this end....................but and its a big but, they were not sure if it would be delivered to my UK addy or one in Spain. A receipt would definitely be sent to the UK one but my N.I.E would possibly need to be sent to an addy in Spain.


I was told that I must not sign it until I get there as I must sign it in their company.

Now when I asked why, in all the info I had it stated that I needed a reason and possibly a document to justify why I wanted an N.I.E I was told to hold while she found out that info, and yep, you guessed it, after a 5 min wait............................I was cut off!

So..............

I CAN apply from here, I have to make sure I don't sign it until I get there, a receipt will be sent to my UK addy, but possibly not my N.I.E, it will cost £22 but she thinks it may have gone up a little, and well that's about it.............

do it when you get here - I'm sure we didn't pay anything like that

Its OK, I have spoken to them again.


They WONT sent the N.I.E back to the UK, I definitely need a Spanish addy, and I DON'T need a letter or document detailing why I am coming.
