Social security is not an optional payment. You must pay it by law if you are working, whether you have private health cover or not.

Believe me they will know....... Spanish authorities deserve more credit than people give them.......they are not silly!
There are no negatives with the contract.....

Again, my lawyer friend, who people on here refuse to believe exists or earns what I say she does, says Spain has the most modern and best tax evasion detection system in Europe! She works for one of the world's top tax consultants.

Everything in Spain is the best in Europe, or so we are constantly being told on the news.

You want to be carefull then reading one of your posts , see below

I guess the first question is do you want to be self-employed or be a limited company? They are the 2 options. They say it is better off being self-employed unless you earn over 35k-45k a year.
If you go for the self-employed option then you need to sign up as an autonomo, then pay 250 euros per month social security. Then you need to deal with the IVA and income tax every month. I am looking into this myself at the moment, this is a good link that shows the process you need to go through:

It is in Spanish, if you cant understand this then you will be better off hiring a gestor to do the process for you.
Best of luck!

Thanks all
, just for reference I am not out to evade or swindle taxes, but if there are any loop-holes, as I've not worked full time in Spain before, so just needed to hear my options....

I once got a peek of my records on the screen at the tax office, and the details of every single client were recorded on there!! So yes, they do know...
