Make sure that your phone is unlocked allowing a Spanish sim to be used, or wait until you arrive and buy one with a phone here. They start around €35 with credit on them already.
Also your EHIC( health card) and an E106 form from the Dept of Work and Pensions in Newcastle, to cover you and your family for healthcare.

No problem, like tim says you can buy a pack that includes phone and sim with credit on it.
My last one when the girl registered it (you get points towards a new phone) in the shop I ended up with 60 odd €`s worth of credit on it, I think she hit the wrong keys. lol
