The only time I have used IE is for the odd sites that do not open with other programs

Re: Another computer problem
I have done a lot of different things but I think that I have also found out why I was having such a problem with MSN even after wiping it out and going back into the internet for it.
We have always had difficulties if we have been signed into messenger, so much so that Graham used to tell the grandchildren that he was very sorry but he would not use it. Well, the other day I forgot what he had said and went into messenger for a granddaughter. A few minutes ago I remembered what Graham had said and checked on whether I had signed out of messenger, I had not so I did this and then went into MSN via the web again and there are now no problems with it. We never did find out why we have this problem with messenger but this has been a lesson to me.

Rosemary, good to hear you have found a way round the problem, I hope my BH remembers my wise statements at some point in the future.

Also thanks to everyone who responded helpfully in both threads I can normally think things through but since losing my sounding board and partner in crime I lack the confidence to take actions without someone else pointing the way for me.

Re: Another computer problem
If MSN home page is your only problem, I would suggest you reset home page to something else e.g. Britishexpats.com
To do this:
Right click on the house icon, top right on internet explorer then select "Add or change home page"

Re: Another computer problem
I have a lot of sites in favourites and I do not think that this is possible on chrome but will have a proper look later. No problems at all since I closed Messenger so I am pretty sure that it was causing the problem. Anyway it made me look beyond what I do and venture into the mysteries behind the screen.

You can download and try, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Maxton or Sea Monkey. However, you will probably find it best to stick with internet explorer.
