Quite agree on all counts.
If found guilty in a fair trial he deserves all he gets, as I said in the first instance, however not being an all American Boy or many ppls favourite person will likely make things much more unpleasant for him and lynch mobs already seem to be licking their lips both in the States and Worldwide.
I wonder how he's enjoying his brief dose of American porridge not to mention social life behind bars.
Somehow I think he'll be made about as welcome as a fart in a perfume shop.

It will definitely toughen him up a bit.

Lip licking lynch mobs? you must be watching in a parallel universe.
As for treatment in the US, he seems already to have preferential treatment in that he was not transported to and from the Court room in leg shackles which is standard practice in the US, and is in a cell on his own. Lets not forget he is an alleged rapist.

I am quite impressed that the US justice system doesn't seem to have been swayed by the "Don't you know who I am" syndrome and that the complainant's allegations are being treated seriously. He will have the same chance to prove his innocence as any other suspect (albeit he will be able to afford a better lawyer than most) which is all he deserves, no more and no less.

I feel sorry for the poor woman, anything in her private life will be dug out. Little wonder some women decide not to report sex crime.
According to one report it's not the first time there have been "incidents" with him at hotels. He probably thought he was so powerful it would be hushed up again.

I watched that clip of him sitting waiting his turn for the Court to deal with his case and his expression kind of reminded me of old film of Nazi war criminals in front of the Court at Nuremberg.
Anyway judging by reactions it's nice to know that good old Uncle Sam is starting to get a few things right for once, and meet with general approval, though at least we should wait for the Court to pass final judgement.
He already seems to be receiving even more negative press than OJ, talking of which I wonder if the Court proceedings will be shown live, as was the early hearing, though I can't imagine either party being too sweet on the idea.

Elena Salgado has come out in support of the woman as has an Austrian politician.

Obviously if the man is guilty of the accusations (and I've heard some pretty horrific details of what he's supposed to have done), then he should be facing the rest of his life behind bars...
However, I remember the footballers from Leicester City who were accused of stuff at La Manga. At the time I thought something was wrong with the women's story, and so it proved to be the case. Eventually the charges were dropped... It's unfortunate, but often certain women will make false charges. It makes the court process very harrowing for the innnocent victims, but it has to be undertaken to make sure an innocent man isn't punished. As I say, we don't know for certain yet, who is innocent here. And if the IMF man is guilty, well then, no mercy!

I think some valid evidence has to be presented to the judge before the hearing. The next hearing is before the grand jury who decides if it should go to trial.
Even if guilty I wouldn't be suprised if he gets off. Money and power always has the advantage. OJ, Michael Jackson, many more. Rubbish the woman and set doubts for the jury.
Even if he is innocent (which I doubt) he seems a real shit. A short sharp shock in custody will be rough justice.

Its a royal mess this one, reports that he left his mobile behind and ran for the airport are now in doubt, it seems he has 5 mobiles, hell, I'd lose one if I had that many, and he went from the hotel to have lunch, or a bite to eat with his daughter before he got on the plane.
I really hate things like this.

What a catch. Not only a cheese eating surrender monkey, but one at the very top, possibly the next president of France.
He'll be 140 years old when he comes out. Still, Madoff will be 230.

When a woman is raped I always say that I am not surprised if she does not report it because the police investigation including gaining forensic evidence is like a second rape and the court case is like a third rape. Bad enough to have gone through it once.

In the case of this female certain people already seem to be castigating her account, there must be some relevance to it given the way the Americans have dealt with him so far so they must believe its a true account given his high profile. I don't take in that its to prevent him becoming president i fell that's a total red herring far too elaborate. I also hope that money doesn't come into it i.e. he pays bucket loads of hush money and walks away, I also would be wary of an alibi from a family member without corroboration.
It would have been interesting to see what would have happened should this have happened in London I doubt our justice system would have the bottle to deny him bail, so for that I commend the Americans.

Rosemary I don't know about America but certainly in the UK the Police have come a long way when dealing with rape victims female or male, the days of the clip from Thames Valley interviewing the female victim are long gone. Of course obtaining forensic evidence is a difficult and sensitive issue and is done by medical doctors not police and is also unfortunately a necessity given the manner of lawyers/barristers in court. This another matter again they have to get to the truth after all that's what a court case is a search for the truth. Still though part of the problem does lie with false allegations of rape with anonymity in UK for alleged victims. You have to admire people that have the courage to go through with this type of inquiry.

Unfortunately it is the people who make false allegations that spoil it for the genuine cases.
