Hi all
A general question, possibly linked to this thread.
I am considering bringing my soft top audi down to CE from Ireland. I was wondering what is the longest period of time I could have it in CE without having to go through the whole process of re-registration. I had thought of drivin down over the spring period and fly home, then revisit in july and August 2014 and possibly drive it home in late 2014.
A plan or a bad plan ?
Regards
Martin

In theory (in law) your car can only be out of its country of registration for 6 months. There are cars on the Costa Del Sol that have been out of their country for ten years or more!
So still legal in August but illegal 6 months after March / April - KEEP THE FERRY TICKET as proof - but in all honesty - you probably won´t have a problem

I agree with Bryony that you can't drive around in a convertible in the middle of the summer. We hired one in the second week in July this year and hardly put the top down. It was lovely early morning and early evening but otherwise it was much too hot. It was still fun though.
