It was on the spanish TV that the spanish aren't spending. There was a report saying the same in DiarioSur a few days ago (you do all read spanish newspapers don't you). It said briefly, there are less spanish on the coast, they are not renting sun-beds or eating in chiringuitos, stocking up at supermercados thats all. I don't know any spanish that would go in a British bar. I have seen some in the Manila bar in Fuengy. Still I bow to the superior knowledge of some posters who seem to know more about the spanish than people born here!
If the spanish do use the Brit bars why do you think that is? Most people on here say they don't even go in them:huh:

Well I am confused now:huh: I have been reading posts on here from all of you (for years) which were slagging off Brit bars for having awful food and over the top prices. Suddenly they are the bees knees and all the spanish are flocking in them:blink: Certainly isn't like that from what I have seen----------anywhere. (discounting the Irish pubs )

Re: Advice - leasing bar in spain????
I've always found that there is a real snobbishness about drinking in brit bars, i live in spain but i drink in british bars, and eat in british run restaurants. I dont really go out much, sometimes i go in spanish bars but sometimes i go in brit ones. I like in spain, have spanish neighbours i speak to, see spanish people at work, and sometimes if i fancy a night out i want to go somewhere i can have a chat in my own language and eat food i am familiar with and drink drinks that i like! And, shock horror, i also buy food from english supermarkets because there is quite alot of food i miss!
Nothing wrong with that but some people are so against it, its as if by moving to spain we should stop with everything we've known all our lives, only socialise with spanish and become spanish. But i'm not spanish, i may live here but i am a british person living in spain not a spaniard. This thread does seem to have people changing their views, as someone else said, one day they hate brit bars and no one goes in them, the next they are saying everyone including the spanish drink in them lol |

The two dont correlate. Just because someone says Spaniards go in an English restaurant doesnt mean they like them. Also, its a personal thing ........ some people like em, some dont. I tend not to go in them but its not a snobbish thing, its just because I prefer not to :) |

So I understand then that everything said on this forum about how crap and poor value for money british bars are is now outdated. Some of you should look back at your previous posts. I remember being in a debate on here when many of you stated the Brit bars served crap food and were more expensive than the spanish ones:blink: Cheese toasty anyone, bet the spanish love em:unsure:
