Re: Advice - leasing bar in spain????
A guy in our village opened a bar at the beginning of the year, he speaks a bit of Spanish and employed a Spanish girl, he does tapas, burgers and steaks.
The bar is always busy with expats and Spanish. A sucess story, yes but he works from 10am untill 2am. The right location, the right staff, the right menu and loads of hard work. |

This is a very short period of time in business ,I guess a bit more time will tell if he`s actually making a profit and not a "busy fool", I wish anyone who has a go good luck but this area of business is well known for failure ,it`s a fantasy job for many...and best left as one.

Maybe a tad early to pass judgement one way or the other. See how the accounts work out at the years end and how long he can keep up that sort of pace. Most new starters have tremendous enthusiasim to begin with but that often fades away after a while and the drudgery starts to take its toll. Wish him all the best anyway and I hope he bucks the trend. |

Agreed ,You have to be positive in business....but also realistic.
But alternatively they may be spurred on by the success and go on to better things. As a businessman I was always spurred on by success to try harder. Being realistic doesnt mean one has to be negative. |

Re: Advice - leasing bar in spain????
My thoughts on the whole bar thing is, in this economic climate, why would anyone sel a bar that is profitable?? Surely, come hell or high water you´d hang onto it by the skin of your teeth it it was making money. That suggests to me that those that are being sold are possibly not!!
