I think it's a little unfair to say 'where did you get those prices?' and
then put restrictions on your own availability. Of course the best prices
are going to be offered to those who can be flexible.

You can't fly mid-week as you both work? You don't have holidays? Take
three days and have a long weekend?

Sorry I dont think we have been introduced and I certainly DO NOT like your manner.

I asked a perfectly civil question, as no my life is not flexible, in fact you know nothing about my life or family responsibilites. As far as holidays, non of your business.

I will await the answer from Nicky or someone else with manners if you don't mind.

Any more rudeness and I will get you hauled off.

Thank you

Hi Merlot, Just thought i would let you know if you are ever lookin for cheap flights then quite a few companies do them especially if you book far enough in advance. Easyjet, Ryanair and BMI to name but a few, also if you do book in advance you may find that you may just pay a little more for a weekend flight rather than mid week. I personnaly have never flown for £1 but I have heard of people getting to France for £0.49. Of course you have to add on your tax but this is usually £5. I have flown to Scotland quite a few times with my 3 year old and i can usually get flights from between £5 and £12 .

Hope this is of some help

Hi angel17796

Thank you very much for your prompt response and your experiences, I will check out these companies.

Your kind assistance is appreciated.

Ah, the friendly britishexpats hello, can't be beat. I think you need to
chill out. I've re-read my message but can't see any rudeness in it. Is it
just me, does anyone else think I was rude? If others do I'm happy to
apologise but I'm not going to be bullied into it by threats of being
'hauled off'.

Oh the dear Paul, nice for you to come back on. What I said to Nicky C was

"Thanks for that, could give me the web address of phone number of who you used? Maybe I am looking in the wrong places????

We both work so flying mid week is not an option we want to take or out of season.

Like ABCDiamond said, by the time you have come to the final bill is has gone up by 400%!!!!

Merlot"

You then retorted a misquote of my words of

"I think it's a little unfair to say 'where did you get those prices?' and
then put restrictions on your own availability. Of course the best prices
are going to be offered to those who can be flexible.

You can't fly mid-week as you both work? You don't have holidays? Take
three days and have a long weekend? "

Where did I say "Where did you get those prices" to NickyC????

You then went to question my putting my restrictions on, hells bells man I know where and when I want to travel, as well as what my "holiday" situation is.

Telling me to take 3 days and have a long weekend is not your suggestion to make. As I said you know nothing of me or my personal situation, thank you.

I was nothing but polite to NickyC, if she (or he) could point me in the right direction, that was all I was asking. Bugger all to do with you unless you are either NickyC or you can give me that information. If you have nothing that is of construction to say, why say it.

On that this is the end of my waste of energy on this as I have had some lovely mails giving me pointers for cheap flights.

well a combination of easyjet and Ryan air just surfed around the website and stuck dates in Italy was a long weekend , Inveness over NY etc.

Quite often these airlines used to have a big sale of 1000's of seats for 1 pound and the emails go around work and everyone books up fast as the Friday and weekend flights go first of course!

Hi Merlot,

Much as I'd loved to have helped you with cheap UK airline prices - it was Coogee Rocks who made the original post. (Both Coogee residents - probably how the names got confused).

I haven't been to the UK for eight years (!) so know very little about current airfares.

Eeeee....why are some people getting annoyed / frustrated

It's all about perception. And perception is in the eye of the beholder

The thing is everyone's perception and opinion may differ but to the individual concerned it's reality.

You soon develop a keen eye for those who tend to over egg a situation or those who love to stir the hornets nest or those who are consistently negative

Just go re-read certain posters threads on different topics and you'll soon develop a keen eye/ear for those whose opinions you personally trust or distrust the most

At the end of the day....it's worth reading them all as you only need take note of the people you trust most, who you believe are credible. You'll soon find out for yourself what you think once you get here

Never discuss religion, politics, money........ or food
