Hello i am very new to this forum stuff but me, my partner and new born have been considering emigrating to Australia for a while know but don't really no the right avenues to go thru to get there. I am in the construction industry and hold a Hgv class 2, 360 above and below, 10 tonne forward tipping dumper and a ride on roller tickets. I have experience in groundwork such as drainage, curb laying, demolition block work and basic steel fixing and chippy work. I have also served in the British army for 5 years. I am 24 and my partner is 21 and are new born is 4 months. I have heard of mining jobs but have also heard there is a lot of work on building sites in Australia and that the country wouldn't say no but like everyone i just want to no if we stand a chance of getting in.
many thanks.

Well it is certainly worth looking into, have you been in touch with anyone to see if you are eligible to migrate ? Mining is really slowing down and can be very hard to get into but again worth looking at. I cant see that there would be a lot of work on building sites but it can be very regional, you may have to look some distance from the cities.

Living in the sticks isnt for everyone but if you can do it then you will probably have more opportunities available to you.
Good luck.

Be aware that your skills are not in big demand in mining, so you will find it hard to get in - dump trucks are nothing like the ones in the UK and there is no shortage of people applying for them as it is regarded as an entry level job. I would check out truck driving and see what is required licence wise and how much truckies earn
