hi weve lived here for over 2 years....in winter (uk summer) weather great but from nov till may is wet season, floods and cyclone threats..is extremely humid and if u dont love extreme heat its not...

We went with ANZ coz they can give us the best mortgage deal (via broker)
there is also NAB and commonwealth and a few others though cant remember its easy to open one when you get here all you need...

we went on realestate.com.au and got our rental 3weeks before we moved and we were sat on furniture for two days (normally super a mart etc ) deliver same day but we had 2 wait 2 days with it being...

Landed in Cairns on 20th but took a while to get internet sorted. Easy for us to say now but it is worth the stress and waiting when you finally get here.

I think its quicker if you lodge your application online and go to a med centre that do meds electronically...also were aware that Perth and Brisbane seem to have the most backlogged applications and...

I think electronic meds are supposed to be quicker, however our paper meds were finalised in exactly 2 weeks so not a huge wait either way really :thumbsup:

I think this is because most are still waiting for their nursing registrations when they apply for the visa. I've been registered since April so I guess this is just how long Brisbane must be taking...
