I've heard internal transfers are a very good route to go down. Though I suppose the same applies... they need to be able to justify the cost and effort.

After reading this ENTIRE thread... I feel adequately prepared for next year's IEC process!! I only wish I had been more aware sooner and had got involved last year... I'm getting impatient already.

I have been giving this some serious thought. I have the funds set up and ready to go but my concern is arranging interviews etc. to make a trip worthwhile. Its difficult to get responses as it is......

I tried Randstad in the UK, but to no reply... Do they help recruit people from overseas? Other's have said they don't recruit those without a work permit?

I've managed to find one company to open the conversation... It's a start but of course far from a sure thing. I'll need to make sure I get involved in the IEC program and hope for the best then.

It sounds like a little bit of a catch 22... PEng requiring a years experience in Canada, but needing the PEng to get a job... Perhaps I should go for CEng in...
