The ball is now rolling with the 457. My employer has done his part of the deal online and I'm about to do part 3, the actual visa application itself.

Just out of curiousity, If I went for the 856 straight away - would it make a difference whether I'm working or not? so long as I passed the skills assessment and everything...

Now I'm currently on a 417 visa (Working Holiday) and have worked for my employer for nearly 6 months....
