Re: Buying a car interstate

Hi Mark. Having had my fingers burnt with this issue before I would reccommend that if you live in Victoria you should buy a car with VIC plates. When it comes to selling it you can do that in any...

Anyone know a good place to look for a car?

I've been living in Melbourne for a few months now and I'm looking to buy a used car. I've searched sites like carsales.com.au, carsguide.com.au and tradingpost.com.au but are there any others? I...

Re: 175 granted but now SS are asking about me

As the original poster I can confirm that the CO granted 175, VIC started to send me emails asking when I would arrive and when I collected the visa sticker which went in my passport it was a 176 so...

Re: Anybody familiar with the Dandenong area?

The reason I said "please don't say jump on a train to melbourne" is because my line of work is not available in the Melbourne area unfortunately. Commuting from Melbourne to Dandenong would be too...

Anybody familiar with the Dandenong area?

Hi,

I've just migrated to Victoria on a state sponsored visa. The majority of work in my industry seems to be in the Dandenong area. I had an interview down there today and it looks a pretty dull...

Re: Anyone know much about Geelong?

Yeah, I've been here for a week and a half now and I'm desparate to start earning dollars as things are so expensive due to the weakness of the pound. I've just paid around £50 for a pair of...

Well that sounds positive, thanks. I've emigrated alone so meeting new people is very important to me.

Re: Thinking moving to Geelong - anyone living there to comment?

Hi, I had a look around Geelong today. It seems nice enough albeit a little small. I had an interview in Corio and if I get the job would look at moving to Geelong. I'm a single guy so I guess...

Anyone know much about Geelong?

I've been to an interview at a place near Gellong, VIC today. It wouldn't be my first choice but I'm tied to SS. It seems a nice enough place albeit a little small so I was wondering if anyone knows...

Re: Help with accommodation in Melbourne/Victoria

I'm not sure. The cheapest private room I could find was $440 a week. A dorm is around $180 a week.

Re: VISA GRANTED OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

I'm a metal fabricator. What's more they seem to have given me 175 instead of 176 which is even better! You can't work the system out at all.

VISA GRANTED OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

Like so many people here I've messed around in the 175/176, CSL/MODL rigmarole since November 2008. After being told to wait until 'after 2012' I'd kind of given up hope. About a month ago the DIAC...
