Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

In NSW if you're on a temporary visa (ie a 820 or 309) you can only get a driving licence for one year at a time, you need to renew it every year until you're permanent. Once you have a permanent...

Re: will minor have to reapply for pr visa.

Could the father of your eldest child bring him out to Oz on a holiday so your kid can validate his visa, meaning it'll be valid for 5 years (I think?) from when it was issued. It gives you a bit...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

My workmate got hers in about 2 or 3 months with no contact from the case officer - she didn't even know she had one. So don't worry!

Re: Working Holiday Visa Sub 417 to Onshore Partner Visa 820/801 Question..

My understanding is that once you are on the BVA you get a fresh six months with your current employer. Beyond this you are still subject to the six month limitation, but I understand it is possible...

Re: how to cope with this is the last time we do......

I'd agree with the posts suggesting you see things as being "the last time ever", it will make your move from the UK really hard, and make it tougher for you to settle in Australia. Australia may be...

Re: Working Holiday Visa Questions

Like others have said, it entirely depends on your qualifications and skills. I'm a social worker and have had no probs finding work, earning a fair whack more than I was in the UK. Try and find a...

Well you could wait if you wanted to, but if there's nothing holding you back and you want to go pretty much straightaway then you can. Your gf can apply online for a WHV - I did mine this way and...

Re: visa query for girlfriend to stay in australia, please help

Why not get a WHV for your gf (assuming she meets the criteria and that) and then she can apply for an onshore defacto visa once you have been living together for 12 months in total (October 2010)....

Re: career to emigrate with...

As a (currently very stressed) social worker, I'd advise not choosing this as a career unless your heart's really in it. I guess this is the same as many jobs but thought I should warn you anyway.......
