If you read your Daily Mail Readers Handbook, you'll find that the correct term is "swamped". As in "we've been swamped by a population increase of 0.83%!".

You probably realise this as it's been mentioned a number of times before, but Canada has an official policy of multiculturalism and immigrants are not expected to "integrate" with anyone.

Language is probably one of the main reasons. You're unlikely to be able to get a decent job in continental Europe without being fluent in the language of that country. Plus, lots of English people...
