changing the "she'll be right" culture IMO is very much a good thing, and I have heard the same from several professional engineers (civil, electrical, mchanical, etc), Kiwi and ex-pat, who feel this...

mmm....the UK was influenced by the EU and much of the OSH legislation was european, albeit made under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
I think that the NZ HASNO stuff (chemicals, etc...

agreed, my experience is more in industry and dealing with the OSH people who are acting reactively on the whole unlike in the UK where it is more proactive. Lots of things could be made better with...
