And have you considered other road users. If you were to set it as something like 4 metres how would this affect the ability of fire trucks to use these streets? ...

Anyhoo, back to the thread. I find Aus less of a nanny state than the UK. I have fewer restrictions on my life here. Not that I'm terribly affected by restrictions as they don't seem to affect...

It is 50kph on residential streets. Main roads are 60kph.

Yes shit.

Same in the UK. Anything less and you'd have to slow down or increase the risk of an accident. Reaction distance at 50kph is 9m. Total stopping distance is 24. With those sorts of...

Because cars parked closer obscure the intersection for cars using the road.
