I think this is a regional thing. Growing up in the East everyone said "caramel," but I hear people here in the West saying "carmel." I think Americans also say "carmel."

Hah, there's a lot of blue food here - natural or not, it doesn't bother us. HB still can't get over the vivid blue frosting on supermarket cakes though, must be a cultural difference.

I've always called it sticky-tack. Usually it's white, not blue. You should be able to get it in any stationary or office supplies store. Hardware stores might have it as well.
