yesterday we bought kawartha dairy ice creams to eat by the canal. usually ask for mine in a container as i dont eat gluten, but for some reason I asked for ice cream in a tub. I did get a funny look from the assistant and it was only later that i realised i had asked for my icecream in a bath........(thats another thread altogther )
ps it was pecan butter flavour,, gorgeous.

Re: Canadian Equivalent words
I forgotten who is the main peanut butter maker in UK, which is funny cos we used to eat it quite a lot. I suppose we used own brand .... is "Fullers" a brand of peanut butter, or is it cat litter??
My dad taught us to eat it (peanut butter that is, not cat litter! ) with jam (jelly) when I was quite small .... I think he learned it from an American in the war!

Sun Pat?
I couldn't wait to get over here and have peanut butter everything, and now I've totally scunnered myself of it, don't think I'll be able to face another peanut for a good few years.

There's a jingle ...... "SunPat peanut but-ter for your daily spread...... " I can even see the jar in my tiny mind's eye!
Who likes smooth (creamy as it is here) and who likes crunchy???? Should we have a poll???

Re: Canadian Equivalent words
I've noticed a lot of Canadians say 'Mum' which surprised me as I expected it to be Mom.
I quite enjoy explaining the real meaning of British swearwords to them. They've all heard the word b*gger and you ask them what it means and they tell you it's like saying damn and then you ask them, 'yes, but do you know what it REALLY means?' And they are shocked because they think the British are so formal!!
They don't have the word dodgy either which I still can't get used to. Such a useful word!
And 'taking the p*ss'. They haven't got a clue what you're on about when you say that. I have to explain that it has 2 or 3 meanings depending on the context and tone of voice! And one meaning might mean you're about to get a punch!
I have to say I get the p*ss taken out of me quite a lot for my English ways of saying things. And my strange semi Australian accent - it went that way from a mix of English and Canadian!!!
