I really do wish people could differentiate between 'free at point of service', regardless of who is entitled to it and how it, the NHS, is actually paid for.

I agree with the above. However, if the NHS becomes overwhelmed through volume of patients i.e. aging population surely it is better to begin to apply restrictions somewhere along the line, otherwise...
