Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

Here in the DFW AREA of North Texas, we have UDSA vet who handles the paperwork and vaccinations or titers. I have been taking dogs to Belfast off and on since 1995. He gets the paperwork organized...

All I wanted you to...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

You will need to have a crate that conforms to the recommendations for your particular size dog. Even though the crates are strapped down to pallets, in turbulent weather, a crate that is too large...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I imagine they are using the wrong scanner. It would be almost impossible for TWO microchips to have migrated. The thought you would have to insert a third foreign body into your pet is insane. Find...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

You are correct........my children were in college and I was recently divorced. I was in panic mode. I missed my kids too much and returned several months later.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I have flown dogs twice with no problems and mine are very tiny - Chihuahuas. They did really well and were not affected at all by the trips.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I agree. I wait until they put ice chips in the water bowl which prevents spillage before they are boarded. I know the lady here in Dallas who handles the dogs. She also gives them a couple of...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

Windsong.....I know for sure people have taken two or more dogs in one cabin bag.... Chihuahuas.....larger.....not so sure. The other practical aspect is going through security. I travel with one or...

Yes same in Texas.....I have done this once already and handled all the shipping details myself. My 4.5 lb Chihuahua travelled from NYC to Belfast without any problems on Continental.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I am pretty sure that so long as the microchips were inserted before the three year rabies shot, it is valid for three years. At least that's what my vet told me.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I'm sorry I don't know the answer. It is a few years since I flew with a dog. I hope someone here will be able to answer your questions. Have a safe trip.
