We don't have a TV ariel never mind satellite! Anything we do watch is streamed though with a 1mb connection, it can be painful. Stopped the kids watching brain numbing American sitcoms and cartoons...

You are right in that it's easy enough if using a router, just route to the VPN and run all traffic through the router. Smart DNS is okay but less secure and can't access as many sites as VPN.

Shouldn't be a problem if number is withheld. If you're feeling especially paranoid, set up UK caller id in Skype and phone them using that.

Filmon have been plagued with legal issues and might not be around for long. VPN is a fraction of the price and you can watch on iplayer if you missed a show. You can also watch missed shows for free...
