Oh of course personal perception is everything. My comment was based on the generalised input that the "UK" is grimm, falling to pieces, unemployment is a mess, etc.

Oh for sure that certainly gives a good grounding on living in a place.

My comment was primarily based on the reply that lovely visits (non residential living) don't give a realistic picture. ...

I worked many countries for extended and/or frequent periods of time.

I couldn't say with high confidence exactly what it was like to actually live in them long term though.

Yes i have. I enjoyed it as much as i did when i lived there. My friends and family are doing very well, their kids are getting a great education and are very happy also.

Bit like having lovely trips to Canada from Maryland but not actually living there ;)



UK unemployment = ~8%
Canada unemployment = ~7.5%
Nova Scotia unemployment = ~7.8%
