Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

There were probably as many reasons to vote "out" as there were people who voted out, so don't you think it is a bit patronizing to assume that the average voter "didn't understand what they were...

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

You also predicted that the vote wouldn't be for leaving (http://britishexpats.com/forum/sand-pit-116/brexit%3B-you-out-872426/page33/#post11977292).

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

I agree, I have been predicting that it would all end in tears since the late '90's, when the euro was turned into a physical currency. Undoubtedly the UK leaving will accelerate things, and likely...

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

The electorate were lied to in 1973 and 1975, and about every Common Market/EEC/EU treaty ever since. .... So, what's your point?

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

No. Yes.

Laws aren't passed that aren't closely vetted by government lawyers to ensure they are legally watertight. That is why it is so rare for the validity of a law to be challenged.
Let...

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

That's a strange guess to make, considering you don't know me.
It resulted from an Act of Parliament (one of the few, these days, not mandated by Brussels ), and it specified a...

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

I feared early on in the evening, as the results started to come in, that "the UK" might have voted to Remain only because the Scottish had done so in large numbers (by about 2:1).

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?

As you said both sides were fed a pack of lies, and what you describe is only the flip side to those who voted to Remain but were only persuaded that any change was bad, not that they wanted or...

Re: The Brexit; Are you in or out?
