Cant help with stables, but make sure you bring good fly repellent.
I watched a couple of horses going potty and felt so sorry for them.
I would bring good fly fringes or masks as well if you can....

Not so much repellant, but useful tip for the bite once you have it.
If you put a lump of sellotape on the bit and leave it there for a couple of days the itch stops and that horibble red lump does...
