Default Mosquito reppelent for terrace , has anyone found one

As we live close to Salgados reserve we have more than the average problem with Mosquitos , there are hundreds on the terrace each evening and as the weather is improving we would like to use it more often .
Has anyone come across a effective Electric or solar zapper that can minimise this problem.

We had a mosquito problem until we were given a plant that gives off a smell that mosquito's don't like and since then we haven't had the problem.
Erm, the only thing is, I don't know the name of the plant. Sorry.
You're welcome to a cutting if you want to pop over to Tavira.....

Lemon Scented pelargoniums (geranium) repel mosquitoes, and are drought resistant and hardy in Portugal.

Hang plastic bottles of water around the terrace, they see their giant reflection in the bottles and soon go away.

Better still, hang bottles of Gin and Vodka with optics on and hey presto your own outside bar as well.
