I was in Nova Scotia last year and it was fine. You will however however need to take a driving test in Canada after 3 months or i think a couple of weeks if you are working ( these time...

My husband stayed at The Royalty b&b in Turo and was very impressed with it and would stay there again when he goes back, he also hired a car at the airport and had no problems ( was booked on-line...
