I think you should be pretty safe with that amount to get you through 2-3 months without work. We've budgeted around 5K per month (worst case) expenses for the first few months and that is living...

I'm an electrical engineer with lot of project management experience and one thing i have noticed is that its probably better to avoid agents. They don't seem to want to help unless you fulfill 100%...

Thanks Hoofie! Funny thing is we do quite a bit of work for Schneider here, so should maybe try that route too.

I'm guessing most people have gone over without jobs initially and just have found...

Pretty much what i've heard too. Apparently many (if not the majority) of the jobs available are not advertised on Seek or elsewhere...how true this is i'm not sure, but so the rumour goes.
