Same here. Only a few weeks after receiving the visitor visa was my PR status approved and I landed a few days later. So not out of work for long.

Can a newly landed PR sponsor someone so soon? I was under the impression PRs had to wait a few years before sponsoring - or is that only for other family members, not partners?

I landed as PR first week of Feb and received my PR card last week - so by my reckoning it took 6 working weeks to receive. So yours should be on its way soon perhaps :)

Never heard of global visas but you are right about BUNAC - you can work as many hours as you want and for any employer across Canada, so long as it's not in childcare, Elem/High School teaching etc...

I think you get a letter posted from bunac confirming acceptance.

Ah yes, I had questions about this before too:

My understanding is that if you are being sponsored by your common law partner then you don't need to fill this one out.

This form is for sponsors...
