Lots of good points raised here and I will refer to it when/if we move.I hadn't thought about keeping my cats indoors, however they are getting older and dont bother too much about going out a lot...

It is hard deciding if it's too much to put a cat through, I couldn't leave them with anyone as noone I know would be as daft about my cats as I am.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see what...

It's nice to know I'm not alone, and we're a long way from even deciding whether to actually go and I'm looking into it already. My worry is they will have to live in rented accommodation with us...

Thank you this was really helpful,I was also worried about rental houses allowing cats but obviously this isn't a problem. My cats are quite old hence the worry, but I will speak to my vet...

Coincidentally, me and the OH went to OZ in November and visited, Sydney, KI, Red Centre and Port Douglas and whilst there I didn't think yes I definitely want to live here, but I was impressed...
