Re: British government launches on-line registration system for Brits around the worl

Re: Ask the Foreign Secretary

Economies of scale I guess?
At the end of the day I don't agree that it's our right to have our passports issued while we are overseas. I'm pretty sure that if they withdrew the service people...

Re: British government launches on-line registration system for Brits around the worl

That surprises me greatly, it usually seems that us Brits expect the consulate to swoop in and rescue us from much tamer situations. It must have been the odd few who's mums don't call the minute the...

Re: Gasoline Prices

Re: Effect and Affect

Yeah that's what I meant! I was top of the English class back in the day but try to get me to figure out what verbs and nouns are and I'm lost.

Re: Effect and Affect

Isn't that what I wrote? That the effect of an event is what affects you?

Re: 6 months until moving back to UK... what do I need to do and when?

I believe I read somewhere recently that Minis are one of the few cars that actually appreciate in value since they are so popular yet hard to get hold of. You might want to look into what you could...

Re: what is the american equivalent of...

I think you misunderstood Robin1234's comment - he was saying that a lot of English people seem to assume that being English means they are C of E unless they claim otherwise. He wasn't saying that...

Re: British government launches on-line registration system for Brits around the worl

I always thought the registering with the Embassy thing was only for countries with travel advisories. Although I won't be registering unless forced to I think it's a good idea to get a clear number...

And as many people were so quick to point out to me not so long ago my daughter may want to live and work over there (or...
