I guess I must be one of the fortuneate ones as I have been offered a 'Shift Leaders' position, so it's an actual promotion for me. I work in Mental Health so opportunities may be different ?

There is an advert in this weeks UK Nursing Times advertsing for RMN's & RN's in Melbourne and says that nurses have been awarded a 20% pay rise over the next three years ?

Although not a police officer [use to be in the met but went into nursing].I have been offered a job in Delta BC and have found this thread useful as I am looking into transfering my NHS pension.

Thanks for that info! Looks like Nurses get a better deal in Oz compared to UK. When you say afternoon's do you mean after 6pm?

Iv'e heard that Canadian nurses do even better. I believe they get...

Has any nurses working in Australia or Canada transferred their NHS pension into equivalent schemes.

Still in the UK & hope to be in Melbourne in March at the latest. A list of benefits my employer has listed is 'Salary packaging'. Anybody else recieve this and is it a good benefit ?
