If you go with freight, apparently you can go from Liverpool, but it takes 8 days instead of the six from Southampton. I will defo try summertime so that the chances of a rough sea are minimal...

I've read on here and elsewhere that Canadians benefit from only 15 days annual leave! Currently I have 25 days with my job which will rise to 30 days within 3 years. 15 days does not seem too good...
