I agree that there is nothing worse in the transport industry than hauling a load that talks back to you but the wages, allowances and shifts are true.

Thought I would post this in case anyone was looking for info regarding driving jobs - Bus and Coach:

Fort Mcmurray - Day shifts (Home every night) - 3-4 hour morning run and 3-4 hour afternoon...

I live in Fort Mc and quite frankly am fed up with the bad press.

There are TWO types of residence here:

1. Transient workers in camps who come to earn good money for short periods of time....

Housing is expensive but it is best to view it as relative as salaries "generally" compensate. Having said that, very few here are truly well off. My opinion is that although the salaries are good...

Don't really know about techs but if flipping burgers in McDonalds pays around $37,000 per year, which I have seen, a qualified guy like yourself should do fine.

Have you tried the big companies in Fort Mc? Recruitment is always an issue so I'm sure they would be flexible and accommodating.

Thinking about it atmydesk, maybe we should keep quiet about Fort Mc and support the "hell hole" image..........;).................. We wouldn't want it to turn it into the "Little Britain" that is...

I moved to Fort Mac a couple of months ago and must say I love it. I came here armed with all the information that generally gets kicked around like crime, drugs etc and I must say I haven't seen it....

It's not what I imagined at all ...... don't believe all the bad press and negative comments, this seems a very vibrant and fast moving "city" and...
