Basically you need to get to Australia by the date specified. You don't need to have moved there permanently just a holiday will suffice just so long as you enter the country.

I'm flying from Heathrow with Qantas\BA and I believe they're allowing two pieces of hand luggage.

I'll just have to turn on the charm when I board the plane!
