Well this is getting interesting. So is trucking in Oz really that bad?? Would there be a decent job for a driver if he came over with his partner on a permanent visa? This 457 thing is starting...

We are really interested in moving to Oz too. My OH is a HGV driver and I am training to be a teacher. Any contacts around Brisbane/Gold Coast would be great as we have family in Pacific Pines....

Would a PGCE in Early Years teaching qualify me to be a childcare coordinator in Oz? I know there aren't many jobs for teachers over there and this is what I would really like to do.:)

Both jobs are surely entirely different so do whichever you prefer. You should try both out. Apparently it's extremely difficult to get a primary teaching job in Oz but easy to get a midwifery one...

My brother in law is in the Gold Coast. His postcode is in one of the areas elegible for regional designated sponsor I think? Is this a temp visa? I read somewhere you only need 6 months work...
