We have some parents who my sister- in-law are sponsoring to come across to canada and the current wait, as of about 6 months ago is about 4 years.

From what I remember,
Should they be told? Yes.
Are you going to tell them? That all depends on you.

But you may have an issue when you land if you try and claim large medical expensis off OHIP.

When we sent off for our passport stamp etc in London, we were told that it could take up to 8 weeks but should be back in 4 and to do nothing until we had them in our hands!

Brought a hours in Ontario about 18 months ago and couldn't believe the realtors rates.
