Re: French stamps

If you look on the La Poste website, you will see that it is perfectly easy to buy and print your own stamps onto your envelopes. Weigh your letters first, put in where you want to send them etc,...

Re: Official Documents for certified Translation

Seeing as the whole of my life story has already been told, I might as well add that my long time partner (now husband) formally adopted my adult children. And before anyone says that you can't adopt...

Re: Official Documents for certified Translation

OK, I give in, there is no point in going round in circles. This happens to be something that I know quite a bit about, and it is obviously different to what you have been told. It doesn't really...

Re: Official Documents for certified Translation

I have also used a name other than my birth name with not too many issues. Of course it will be accepted as a 'nom d'usage'. But that is all it will ever be, and then only when you have demonstrated...

Re: Official Documents for certified Translation

This is the link from the Service Publique website. As I understand it, there is a right to choose, but birth name is still the legal name.

Re: Official Documents for certified Translation

Your name change can only ever be a 'nom d'usage'. Your legal name in France is ALWAYS your birth name. No getting round that.

Re: Is your home safe?

Ah yes, you have me sussed!

Seriously though, I would rather not spend my life worrying about what could/might happen to my material possessions. That level of anxiety I can live without, and it...

Re: Is your home safe?

I have never locked my house or my car. Not a single incident to report. Even leave car unlocked while I am at work.

Re: Moving back to uk from France

As far as I am concerned, the value of the house is the value of the house, and has nothing to do with agents fees, notaires fees, cost of diagnostics or any other expense associated with the move. ...

Re: Moving back to uk from France

I have, in the past two days, sold a house and bought another house in France.

We didn't use an agent for the sale. The buyer paid the notaire's fees.

The seller for the house we bought used an...

Re: DIY or expert removals to France?

It is worth asking in the supermarket, they may save them for you. The best boxes are banana boxes, they are really stong and have very good well fitting lids. Not enormous but fine for small...

Re: Internet connection

I think these things are very important to our boys. I didn't like it at the time, I didn't like the nature of the games that he played, or how much it isolated him. But he needed it, it gave him...

Re: Moving back to uk from France

We have just sold our house quickly and easily for the full asking price without the 'help' of an estate agent.

In my opinion, it is crucial to do your research. Get the price right and plan your...

Re: s1 form

From what you have said, it is possible that you are unable to do this. Your S1 has never been registered in France and it is probably out of date by now. It is unlikely that you will be entitled to...

Re: s1 form

For a child to travel to the UK, even a british child who lives in France, they will definitely need evidence of health cover. If cover is provided in France with France as the responsible state (ie...

Re: s1 form

The only place you need to present your S1 is at the CPAM office. Are you sure that you have done this? If you have, then you would have an Attestation from CPAM stating your cover in France, and...

Re: helppp (surinder singh roue)

Theoretically, cover would be backdated to the start date of the work contract, so once all the paperwork had gone through the system, there would be a retrospective refund. However, if you are not...
