Just out of curiosity is it true that a US Citizen has to prove they are a citizen when they come back to the US via a border crossing from Canada...and if so how do they prove it if they don't have...

I called ahead of time and found out from the USCIS doctor office everything I needed to be done. Called my own doctor got all the required shots and so on done, then had written proof for my doctor...

Her husband is from Egypt. The reciept says that it has been transfered to California. So am I under the impression that she waits for it to be approved which says 6mths for California....
