Hi, and thanks for the reply. I saw the 65% tax online but had not realised that it was for a WHV. If it is 35% for 457 holders I will take the cash after tax and just pay it into my UK pension...

Transfer of Q super

Hi,

I am on a 457 and returning to the UK next year. I have looked into taking my Q super as a lump sum after I leave but from what I can see the Australian tax office will take about 60%. Is it...

Re: SkillSelect 189/190/489 Age Limit Lowered to <45

Do you have any idea what will happen with the 187 agreement stream? Is this also dropping to 45?

Re: Australia - As good as it "looks?"

It is whatever you make it. Do not underestimate how much you will kiss 'home' when you first get here, at times it is very tough. Skype/Facetime help a lot but there can be some dark days in that...

Re: 457 transition to 186 PR

With regard to 186/187 visa's is the age limit counted from the day the employer lodges an application or the day immigration reviews the application and allows you to apply?

Re: 187 query

489 with a view to 887 is also an option if the 187 timeframe is too tight. Although I may just return to the UK in 2018 and put it all down to experience :)

This is the first mention of skills assessments. There is nothing on the border agency website regarding a skills assessment for either 187 direct entry or agreement stream. Are you sure this is...

Re: 187 query

That is my concern, especially as it is now the end of the immigration dept year and I suspect lots of over 45's are also applying 'last minute'!

Hi Forum,

I doubt if anyone will be able to give me exact details on timescale but any indication as to whether I am 'clutching at straws' would be helpful.

My in-laws have been over for 6 months and whilst here flown to NZ for a few weeks to see family. I am no expert but I assume that there wouldn't be any problem. But as I say, I am no expert

Re: How long can a parent stay on a visitor visa from the UK & how many times per yea

As far as I am aware she can stay for up to 6 months and only has to leave Australia for a day to start the 6 months over again.

Re: Changed to 189 Visas - Reduction in Age Ceiling - Pathway for New Zealand Citizen

Having just read this, plus the age reduction to 45yrs for 186/7 PR visa's in July is it not inevitable that all 189/190 visa's will follow?

Re: PR

As far as I am aware you only need IELTS if you need the points. If you have 60 points without IELTS I assume there's no need to do it?
