Ours hasn't arrived, they seem to be cutting it late, I re-registered weeks ago.

Nope. I opted for a proxy vote but didn't have time to organise it by the time they sent the forms.

Will it make it back in time? Mine never arrived for the referendum, so haven't bothered this time.

Probably not. I didn't ask for one, it just rocked up. I guess after asking for a vote in the Brexit thing I was put on some list by the returning officer?

If anyone wants me to be their proxy, I volunteer.

If who you want to vote for is different to who I want to vote for, don't worry, I promise to honour your wishes.

Does the proxy vote have to be in the same constituency you last lived in like the overseas vote?

That would be our problem as all close friends and family do not live there. We gave up getting the postal votes as they arrived too late to be of use, I tried complaining but........

Ours arrived on 31st May. Not bad considering councils cannot print the forms until nominations close - this time it was 22nd May I believe. For PhilPost that is almost unbelievable speed! It usually takes 2/3 WEEKS for overseas mail to get from Manila to us.The envelopes were marked "Advanced First Class Mail" so whether that made a difference I'll never know. Because this election is important, I lashed out and sent the forms back by courier - they arrived yesterday. In future though I'll use a proxy vote. Don't know if your proxy can be in different area - I doubt it as you are a registered overseas voter in a specific constituency - based on where you were last on the electoral register in UK.

Closing date for candidates was Thursday 11 May. Our ballot packs were posted out on 18th May. A proxy has to vote in the constituency you are registered in.

Same here, but your nominated proxy voter can then apply to vote in another constituency.

That's what I did last time but unfortunately they didn't send me the forms in time to do that this time so I don't get to vote this time
