I used to work for Protea Hotels before I returned to the UK 2 years ago and would have to say that most Protea Hotels are of a very high standard throughout Africa and South Africa....

Most hotels now have key cards. I always put on the extra security door lock when staying in any of the hotels. Security always comes first in SA....
