Hi all,
a question please, planning to apply a spouse visa this october and i'd seen that it takes 120 days to get the visa i Sri Lanka, husband and i both work in the Maldives so Colombo is the closest one to appply the visa.
as we will be travelling in asia, i would like to know how long will they return my passport after i submit my documents to the visa office?
Will a week be fine for them? Or would it be longer?
Thank you for any assistance

Sorry I can't answer you're question but I'm sure someone will.
I'm in the same boat as my passport had to go off with OH's ILR application but I thought I'd be cleaver and apply for an Irish passport in the meantime. Just my luck that they apparently went on strike the day after they received my application and the other day when I followed up with them as to why I've heard nothing from them I was told that as I hadn't applied for the premium service it will take 8-10 weeks. I'm itching to book a trip for my son and I to see family in South Africa for end of July but I'm not silly enough to book and pay for a trip until I have a passport in my hand...not much I can do I suppose
Have been told that I can contact UKBA to ask for my passport back but it say's in the letter of receipt to try and not do so (I did try and phone but was on hold for ages so hung up
)so I'll just have to bite the bullet and hang on.

Hiya Donna,
thank you for your post, fingers cross there are some who can assist my query, indeed very difficult to book the flight and accommodation and planned a holiday if you are not sure what is going on... and for flights especially they become more expensive when you book it closer especially with 3 countries we planned to visit.
pleasant day to you.
