Landed on the same bridge on May 19th, as we live in Kingston since Oct 2008. Everything went smooth, except for a small glitch.

The officer that took care of our papers gave us the wrong page...

Re: Landing as PR in Canada and visiting USA

But you can keep your I94 until the expiration date (90 days after issuance) and enter multiple times without paying any fee. The only "problem" is that you need to return it at the border (or at an...

Re: Permanent Resident Visa valid to date??

That's pretty much it. Say that you're landing and they know what to do. Do not forget to check the wiki for documents you might need to present.

Re: Permanent Resident Visa valid to date??

Still, you have to actually "land". Either you get out of the country and come back, or you schedule an appointment in a CIC office near you. In one of these events you will land and activate you PR...

Re: Permanent Resident Visa valid to date??

1: After you receive the passport back, you land and acquire PR. Then you get the card.

2: That's the date of your medical, one year later.

Re: urgent query...request for copy of application

Re: urgent query...request for copy of application

Only the letter will come in hard copy. No copy from your application, and I guess you cannot ask for it. It's a very simple form, I don't know why would you want it back.

Re: Medical for SOWP?

I believe you won't need a Medical for an open work permit. It's not attached to any type of function or job, you might not be working at all, if choose not to.

It's not an expert opinion, and...

Re: Interview Question - taking interview in another country than home

I might be wrong, but I think in case of an interview, it will be taken on the country where the application was submitted.

Re: Changing TWP at POE???

Try searching the forum. There are many entries about renewing at POE. I don't recommend it, but other people have different opinions.

Re: TWP change of conditions and SOWP

Another thing that we did, as we both have client IDs was to pay the fees separately. Don't know if this helps, but it didn't hurt.

Re: Medical exam.

They won't do a skin test without an X-ray. You have to tell the DMP that she's pregnant and he might postpone the X-ray until after the birth. This is quite usual and probably the consulate/CHC will...
