Going back to the original question, I think it depends what you are used to. Some come here for a better life etc so would not be prepared to travel but Jason used to commute about 1.30 each way...

Our local butcher seems to have a bit of a sale on Saturdays between 4 and 5, buy more than you need and freeze.

Have also found a local veg farm shop, it is seasonal, very fresh and dirt cheap...
