Re: Etiquette or what?

I seemed to have upset a few people tonight and that was truly not my intention. I didn't mean to be contentious in anything I said and if I have offended anyone please accept my apologies.

Re: Etiquette or what?

Even he could not lose those! Yes I agree with almost everything you said. I just don't want my girls to feel entitled and that as far as I could see they were giving the girls the impression that...

Re: Etiquette or what?

Re: Etiquette or what?

Yes, in the main I'm with you, but they insisted on the girls wearing skirts or dresses. As a female I hope that I extend to my fellow person all the courtesy that I would like to receive. I just...

Etiquette or what?

My youngest has just been through an ettiqutte course at school. Not annoyed at all about that. What did annoy me was the boys had to carry the girls bags/books for a day. Boys had to open doors and...

Unless it has changed dramatically: Plumber, Elecritician, Hairdresser, Chef. the list goes on. Before coming here 2 years ago I was a trainee careers advisor and I met many young people who didn't...

Re: Registering with a school

When we registered the girls in school in PA we had to provide their immunisation records, dental records and proof of residency for the school catchment area. Look up NJ state education department...

Re: High School Credit System

This may be down to the individual school just being too lazy to find the different parts of the curricula which would give her credits.
In broad terms 5 ( A-C) GCSEs are equivalent to a high school...

Please and thankyou.. a British thing?

Had some kids round tonight for a party and not one of them used the words please or thankyou. Most Americans I've met are quite mannerly but these two words seem to elude the majority of them. So is...

Re: Road Courtesy

As a company car driver I had to do an advanced driving test so as the company could get cheaper insurance. My instructor used to drive HGV's and told me why lorry drivers did what they did. I found...

Re: It's all happening now...
