Advantages of buying a laptop in KL

We have a 2 day stopover in KL in early August and if I buy a laptop from a reputable firm in KL what dangers or advantages might exist e.g. global warranties, cost, import duties etc

Thanks for all your advice but straight economics have dictated KL rather than Singapore this time.

Booked Malaysian for a flight on the 7th August in the end via asda.

Also booked 2 nights in...

Well it looks like asda astheprice at the moment, so if not much changes I shall be booking via them tomorrow and then moving onto the accommodation thereafter - I'm sure a few of you have done this...
