Re: Passport Renewal

Thanks for the info. If it's easy enough, I'll just renew it but I read that a minor's passport has to be renewed in person. I'll have good read of the website you provided.

Re: Anyone else getting stuck in UK because of housing market?

We are also on the same situation. I've thought about renting. Our fixed rate is up in June and thought about going interest only. I think that's the only way we could cover the mortgage. ...

Re: Just don't know what I want!

Thanks. Definitely the stress of ping ponging and not only the affect it has on me but everybody around. I think I worry way too much about what the rest of my family will think and I hate to upset...

Re: Just don't know what I want!

I know what you're saying and I've thought about that a lot. Maybe it's me not the place where I live??? Also, the thing is, I wont be remembering how good life has been since we've been back here....

Re: Just don't know what I want!

Thanks for all the responses. I think I'm with you USAGypsies in "what-if-land" and I've had enough of it. It's time to start living. Today I'm feeling positive about the move so it's mush easier....

Re: Just don't know what I want!

Fear of unknown and saying goodbye. This not being the first move, you'd think I do know what to expect but I think it's a bit scarier with today's economy. I just hope I can be happy this time. ...

So, we may be ending up in Willoughby this time around. I've been several times and like it a lot but is it a good place to live? Are the schools good? etc... We lived in North Olmsted before...

Re: Has Anyone Moved Back To The UK & Regretted It?

I agree. I don't need the big house and pool. For me it's more about having more time with family. The way things are going, I don't think we could have all the luxuries now anyway but I do think...

Re: Has Anyone Moved Back To The UK & Regretted It?

For us, yes. Not hugely, but enough to consider going back. We didn't have a huge house but a very comfortable one. I don't need material things but we didn't have to worry about money like we do...

Re: Has Anyone Moved Back To The UK & Regretted It?

I know exactly what you're saying, Dunroving. We just can't enjoy life here. Working to pay the bills and mortgage, then there's no money left to enjoy. I was really looking forward to taking...

Re: Has Anyone Moved Back To The UK & Regretted It?

In a way, I'm glad we moved over here to make us realize what we want. We just can't afford to live here. It's all work to pay the bills, not enough time to spend with the family, etc... I do...

Re: Has anyone "given up everything" to repatriate to the UK?

We're in Lancashire. I think we paid around $5000 for shipping pretty much everything from our 3 bedroomed house. I was very pleased with the company we used too. They would be my first choice on...

Re: Has anyone "given up everything" to repatriate to the UK?

Yes. We had a nice house in the Cleveland area with a comfortable life. We sold our house for very little profit, most of which we spent on shipping our stuff back. We started off quite well to...

Re: How to deal with leaving family behind?

It's very difficult. When I first left it was a lot easier. Then my mum got sick and it was terrible. We came back to visit her and she died while we were visiting. I think she knew. She waited...
